Dieu et l’argent -God and money

 Vous ne pouvez pas servir à la fois Dieu et l’argent

Dans la phrase « Vous ne pouvez pas servir à la fois Dieu et l’Argent », le mot « servir » a un sens religieux, bien sûr. Il n’y a qu’un seul Dieu, ne vous faites pas d’idoles. Or l’argent peut fort bien devenir une idole, c’est-à-dire devenir une fin en soi et non plus un moyen ; quand on est obsédé par l’envie de gagner de l’argent, on devient vite esclave : bientôt nous n’aurons plus le temps de penser à autre chose ! « Se méfier de ce qu’on possède pour ne pas être possédé »,  C’est une manière de rester libre.

You cannot serve both God and Money,” the word “serve” has a religious meaning, of course. There is only one God; do not make idols for yourselves. But money can easily become an idol, that is, an end in itself rather than a means to an end. When we become obsessed with the desire to make money, we quickly become slaves to it: soon we will have no time to think about anything else! “Be wary of what you possess, lest you become possessed by it.” This is one way to remain free.

Après 13 années de services loyaux au sein de la paroisse Jésus Lumière du monde, c’est avec une profonde reconnaissance que je vous informe de ma décision de quitter la paroisse à la fin du mois. Cette étape, importante pour moi, me conduit vers de nouveaux défis professionnels.
Je tiens à vous exprimer ma gratitude pour ces années passées. Votre soutien, votre amitié et votre collaboration ont enrichi mon expérience.

After 13 years of loyal service to the Jesus Light of the World parish, it is with deep gratitude that I inform you of my decision to leave the parish at the end of the month. This important step for me will lead me to new professional challenges.
I would like to express my gratitude for these past years. Your support, friendship, and collaboration have enriched my experience.

 Départ de Madame Gihan Gad

Madame Gihan Gad a pris la décision de quitter son poste d’adjointe administrative à notre paroisse afin d’entreprendre un autre emploi. En tant que curé de la paroisse Jésus-Lumière-du-Monde, je tiens à la remercier chaleureusement pour les dévoués services qu’elle nous a rendus pendant 13 ans. Sur le plan administratif, elle nous a soutenus afin que nous puissions accomplir notre mission pastorale. Lorsque je suis arrivé ici comme administrateur paroissial en juillet 2024, elle a aimablement pris de temps de me présenter les réalités de notre paroisse, ce qui a facilité ma tâche. Son dernier jour de travail à notre paroisse est le 30 septembre 2025. Nous lui souhaitons du succès dans les nouveaux projets qu’elle débute.

Departure of Mrs Gihan Gad 

Mrs. Gihan Gad has made the decision to leave her position as administrative assistant at our parish in order to take another job. As pastor of the Jesus Light of the World parish, I would like to thank her warmly for the devoted services she has rendered us for 13 years. Administratively, she supported us so that we could carry out our pastoral mission. When I arrived here as a parish administrator in July 2024, she kindly took the time to introduce me to the realities of our parish, which made my task easier. Her last day of work at our parish is September 30, 2025. We wish her success in the new projects she starts.

Alpha – Pray and Invite!

Alpha – Pray and Invite!
A simple invitation can be life-changing. The 11:02 initiative invites our community to participate in transforming lives. Inspired by Luke 11:2 (Chapter 11, Verse 2) where Jesus taught his disciples how to pray, the 11:02 initiative is a way for us to pray for future Alpha participants. It consists of 3 simple steps:

Write down 3 names
Pray for them every day at 11:02am
Invite them to Alpha. It starts on October 7th.

This Sunday, September 21 during all the masses, we will be discussing how to invite to Alpha. Join us or find out more on IG @jldm_alpha

Le Groupe Action Miséricorde en collaboration avec la paroisse St-Luc et Jésus Lumière du Monde organise une retraite à la Divine Miséricorde avec Vénération de cinq reliques de Saints, Samedi  le 04 octobre prochain de 9h à 16h à l’Église Marie Reine de la Paix.
Le thème : La Divine Miséricorde, un-Mode de Vie.
